I had been wanting to make this Cousin Itt costume forever, but never got the nerve and didn’t want to take the time. And one year I just said forget it and honestly it was way easier than I thought.
I took a brown sheet and cut a hole in it for the face and the arms. Then I went and got three table edging hula items. Not actually the skirt, but what you would put around the edge of the table. I had to have help, but I started at my head and literally just wrapped it around my body. I used safety pins to keep it on my body.
When one of the hula skirts was done, I would go underneath and then start wrapping the other. Once it was said and done, I went and put a small piece of stitching where every safety pin was. Then I just added the hat and the glasses. I did move the hula strings out of my face when I wanted to speak or eat lol.
Uncle Fester was basically just a wig, cap and face paint and a husband with a goofy smile.
